 I don't know what's worse: The person that created that untrue Hilfiger rumor or the countless people who actually believe it. While working in the sportswear section of a popular department store, a customer told me, "I like the clothes even though he (Tommy Hilfiger) is RACIST." My own sister in Los Angeles has heard about it, "Tommy Hilfiger doesn't like Asians wearing his clothes..." and my girlfirend's teenage cousins refuse to wear Tommy Hilfiger clothes because they heard the same thing from the Internet. Since everything you read on the Internet is the truth, how can you blame them? Tommy Hilfiger Clothes: Christina Peczon, you have put your foot in your mouth as well as make Filipinos (ESPECIALLY the ones who belive this LIE) look real FOOLISH! Have your friends really thrown out their Tommy Hilfiger clothes? If you want you can send them to ME if you still believe in that absurd notion that Tommy Hilfiger is as stupid as you think he is. In your article (which has been e-mailed around the world, oh yes the power of the Internet!) you state "someone correct me if I'm wrong..." well you stand CORRECTED! The damage is done. If you can't afford it and/or don't like the style, simply don't buy the clothes. Tommy Hilfiger Clothes: The thought of someone wearing Tommy Hilfiger clothing being frowned upon or even assaulted becasue of absurd rumors going around (like "Eat Your Clothes, Mr. Racist Designer") is most disturbing. I'm sorry but you don't speak for ALL Filipinos. Now its my turn to do "everything in my power" to show the world that not all Filipinos are so gullible. Why don't you write about the Filipina Sex Slaves in Japan and Saipan or the harsh treatment of Fillpino Overseas Workers in the Middle East and elsewhere. That would be worth reading about, maybe not as exciting as "Eat Your Clothes..." but certainly more productive. Tommy Hilfiger Clothes: Being a Filipino American myself, I am ashamed of this inflammatory e-mail circulating the world over denouncing Tommy Hilfiger because some "heard" from someone LIES about Tommy Hilfiger being on Oprah and CNN saying he doesn't make for Filipino/Asians/Blacks. They said the same thing about Liz Claiborne! How can someone be so stupid as to say they don't make clothes for certain people on CNN or Oprah? If this rumor is true, why not back it up with a video tape with the alledged racist remarks?
