 A lot of the people who responded have/had a Graco battery powered swing. Others had a Century battery powered swing, a Graco windup swing, a Century windup swing, or a Fisher-Price windup swing. Nobody had the Fisher-Price battery powered one I see in the stores. Although some people were happy with a windup swing most thought that a battery powered one is worth the extra money. They pointed out that when the windup one stops ore is rewound a baby sleeping in the swing wakes up. It also sounds like the battery powered swings are fairly quiet and the batteries last a lot longer than I would have thought. On the other hand at least one person thought that babies prefer the noise a windup swing makes. graco baby swing: People varied a lot in how useful the graco baby swing was. Some said their baby loved it and it really helped them. Others pointed out that some babies just don't like swings. Others were somewhere in the middle: the baby liked it ok or used it for a while, but not long enough for it to be really worthwhile. graco baby swing: We put off buying a graco baby swing until our 1st child was 3 months old. After that, we wondered why we waited so long. I think it is an essential tool for YOUR peace of mind..unless you plan on rocking the baby all the time to sooth it. Even now there are some things I could have done without..like the bouncing chair and the high chair. Still am glad that we have the Graco jumper though. Baby won't be ready for that until about 5 months old, though. Not so sure it is essential, either. graco baby swing: I have another company to nominate for an award: Graco. We have a Graco baby swing (the kind you wind up), and we got it out to lend it to a friend with a baby. My two-year son (who weighed about 35 pounds) immediately climbed into the seat, and promptly broke the seat. I called the 800 number for Graco, and told them the seat was broken, they asked no questions, and we recieved a complete new seat within a week, no charge. I thought that was wonderful service, and enjoy buying their products.
