 A close friend of mine is having a baby in June. She's very chic, and I would love to give her as a gift a fashionable diaper bag (i.e., no quilted flower prints or teddy bears, etc.). I saw a great looking, sleek black diaper bag by Kate Spade at Bloomingdales ... however it's quite expensive (I can't remember exactly, but somewhere close to $200!). I would think with what seems like this baby boom going on that there would be an affordable "knock-off" of the Kate Spade bag. Does anyone know of such a thing? How much are "normal" diaper bags, anyway? I'd also like to know for my own selfish reasons, as hopefully in the very near future I'll be in need of one as well! ;) kate spade diaper bag: A little small, though, so if this is your first diaper bag purchase you may want a second bigger bag or backpack from lands end or eddie bauer for longer outings. I personally wouldn't spend the $$ on a Kate Spade d.b.; I would just buy myself a Kate Spade purse. For some reason, women with Kate Spade diaper bags scare me. Although not women with KS purses. I'd rather it just be > something plain in canvas/micro fiber/leather(?). kate spade diaper bag: It's not discounted, but they sell the Kate Spade diaper bag in the Garnet Hill catalog. It is about $200.00 IIRC. If you can't find it discounted may I suggest Land's End? They make wonderful, functional diaper bags that don't scream "diaper bag". I recently ordered the "Do-it-all" for under $40.00 IIRC. It's a bag that my husband wouldn't mind being seen carrying. Although I like the styling of the KS bags, they are a little "girly" for dh to feel comfortable carrying.
