My baby room is shabby chic if you are familiar with that decorating style. We are using a light creamy green with a tone on tone green stripe on the wall. I picked green because it was unisex. My nursery bedding was derived from a fabric that I found at an interior design shop- it is a green toile with babies and children playing on it. The crib skirt is made entirely of toile, the crib bumper is a green and creme check with the ruffle pulling in the toile. All of the bedding was custom made for me which is expensive for most people to do, but it really makes the room- it is the one big item. nursery bedding: We did the room in white traditional nursery bedding furniture since we will always use this room or have a room that can be designated the nursery. I am usually very adamant on not buying furniture that will not work in at least two other places in my home especially since I buy a lot of antiques- end tables that don't match on purpose, etc., but this nursery furniture wasn't expensive enough to get in a dither over. nursery bedding: I have a Noah's Ark theme which I really like. I wouldn't say I'm sick of it, but it is hard to get people to understand that it is the theme of my nursery, not my life. I didn't need the Noah's Ark T-shirts (for me and for baby) photo albums and frames, diaper bags, wind chimes, calendars, Christmas ornaments, you name it that I got. The nursery bedding, a few prints, a lamp, that was plenty. nursery bedding: The nursery bedding company California Kids (I think this is right) has a nursery (and twin/double bed) bedding set called "Bronco". It is REALLY cute and comes in blue or a brick red. They have the accessories as well. You should be able to find their book at most baby stores. I think they are on InternetBaby as well. Good Luck. nursery bedding: You don't need the fancy little nursery furniture, the fancy nursery bedding, or designer clothes for an infant. I couldn't even begin to give a dollar amount, but I know it isn't necessarily that much. Of course, I bought all my son's winter and spring clothes (except for socks and a winter coat) secondhand for $80, so I tend to be thrifty anyway. And most of his baby stuff was free second-hand or gifts from family, except for his toddler bed ($40), his highchair ($60) and his dresser ($250). nursery bedding:
